Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm
had collected and written down children’s stories from previous generations, and
the brothers looked to pass along these stories for future generations. From these ideas the tales from the Brothers Grimm
were born.
In December 20, 1812, they
published their first edition which contained 86 stories.
Two years later, they published a second edition of 70 stories. In subsequent years, they published new combined
additions of their stories, and added or subtracted some of the tales. By the time the seventh edition was published, it
featured a total of 211 tales. Some of the more

The Tales of the Brothers
Grimm has been a favorite of parents and children for nearly two hundred years. Their unique tales have been re-told many times and
many ways, and several have been adapted for broadcast on television, radio and
movies. The tales have stood the test of time, and
will remain popular for many more generations of parents and children.
