I use the Canon compatible series of inks generally both for colour and quality text. I would recommend them for general day-to-day use. When top quality photo printing is needed I tend to use Canon brand replacement tanks as long as price is not an issue and especially where colour fidelity is vital. The cheaper 'compatible' ink tanks seem to be well-tolerated by the Canon printers.
